PIGLING PORK - Rare Breed Saddleback Pork
Pigling Pork was introduced to the business in 2013, by Rebecca, with a trio of Saddleback pigs. These pigs are completely free range and have been home-reared at the farm since August.
All of the pigs are kept permanently outside in a totally natural stress free environment, they are free to play, communicate and even fight with each other. (as well as their great escapes wherever they can find a chance into the arable fields!)
The pork that you buy from the supermarkets and most butchers is factory farmed commercial pork. It is uItra—lean, wet with the fat and lean separating, by contrast Saddleback pork is robustly excellent by contrast, succulent, flavoursome and with crackling to die for. Rare breed Saddlebacks mature slowly and because they live outdoors they need to develop the muscles and fat needed to survive outside. The meat is gently marbled with fat and full of flavour. It is sweet and succulent and has a special taste and texture. Because of this they are unsuitable for modern factory farming methods. Our pork is tender and delicious and I can guarantee that it will be unlike any other pork you have ever tried before.
